Forestry, Bodcaw school forest, 1959 [graphic] / Ernie Deane [photographer]. 1959.

Negative taken for March 19, 1959, Arkansas Gazette article "Faith in Youth, and Pines, Pays," B1:2. Backed by D.K. Doug Bemis' Ozan Lumber Company, students from Bodcaw, grades six through 12, planted pine tree seedlings in 1946. Some of the trees that grew were 50-feet tall and five to nine inches in diameter. After the trees are harvested, the money will go to the schools. The schools use the land to teach students how to plant and care for trees. Jerry Tomlin and Jimmy Russell, members of the Future Farmers of America at Bodcaw High School, stand in front of the sign for their school's forest. Bodcaw is in Nevada County, Arkansas.
